Brax Girl Ed 45: Sanaz Jahanmir

A Love Written in Time
Some love stories begin with a chance encounter. Others are quietly woven into our lives long before we recognize what they are meant to become.
For Sanaz Jahanmir, love has always been close to home. From childhood gatherings and a friendship that spanned decades to a beautiful proposal surrounded by family, her story with her husband, Kayvon, is one of familiarity blossoming into something extraordinary.
After ten years together, the couple celebrated their wedding and stepped into a new chapter as husband and wife. Today, Sanaz finds herself in a season of happiness and contentment, surrounded by the people she loves and grateful for the life they are creating together.
“I love the life I’m building, the place I call home, and the person I get to share it all with.”

A Lifetime in the Making
Long before Sanaz and Kayvon became husband and wife, their lives were already beautifully intertwined.
Their fathers attended college together, and their families remained close through the years, even attending each other's weddings. Although Kayvon grew up in Northern California while Sanaz's family lived in Southern California, their parents made sure they reunited several times a year.
Growing up, Sanaz, her sister Yasi, and Kayvon shared countless memories under the watchful eye of Sheeva, who would eventually become Sanaz's sister-in-law.
As they grew older, Kayvon continued showing up for Sanaz's important milestones, from birthdays to graduations. Their friendship was something she deeply treasured, never imagining it would become anything more.
That changed during a weekend in San Francisco in 2014, when Sanaz was visiting for her now brother-in-law's birthday.
“Kayvon and I shared a moment that changed everything. What started as a lifelong friendship slowly turned into something more, and the rest is history!”
When Friendship Became Forever
For Sanaz, falling in love with Kayvon came with a little hesitation. Their friendship was precious, and with two families so closely connected, she worried about what might happen if their relationship didn't work out.
But as their connection deepened, it was Kayvon's quiet thoughtfulness that began to change everything.
He made her feel understood, cared for, and completely comfortable being herself. During a weekend at a music festival, Sanaz saw those qualities in a new light as he thoughtfully looked after her and made sure she was happy.
“Watching the way he cared for me made me realize just how much he meant to me. That was when I knew I was in love with him and that he was the person I wanted to build a life with.”
What had always been a beautiful friendship had become the foundation for a lifetime together.
The Magic of 2.22.22
When Kayvon finally proposed, he had already been planning something extraordinary.
The couple had been shopping for engagement rings, and Sanaz had fallen in love with a particular diamond months earlier. Although they continued looking at other stones, Kayvon secretly returned to the one she had first admired.
With the help of Sanaz's aunt Amy at Brax Jewelers, he secured the diamond, while Sanaz's mother, Samira, helped design its beautiful setting.
Then came February 22, 2022, a date Kayvon had carefully chosen.
After spending a weekend with his family in the Bay Area, the couple returned to Orange County on a rainy Tuesday. When they arrived at Sanaz's parents' home, she discovered their backyard had been transformed into a breathtaking proposal setting.
Her closest friends and sister were hiding nearby, while Kayvon's family watched the moment unfold over FaceTime.
“Having our favorite people be part of that moment made it even more meaningful, and it’s something I’ll never forget.”
It was a proposal filled with thoughtful surprises, family, and the kind of love that had surrounded them since childhood.

A Diamond, A Family, A Story
Some engagement rings carry more than a promise. They hold the memories and love of the people who helped bring them to life.
Sanaz's pear-shaped diamond engagement ring is one of those pieces.
Its center stone was the very diamond she had fallen in love with during their early visits to Brax. Unknown to her, Kayvon had returned to choose it, making sure the ring would feature the stone that first captured her heart.
The design became even more personal through the involvement of her aunt Amy and mother Samira, each contributing to a piece that would forever symbolize her relationship with Kayvon.
That same sentiment carried into her wedding jewelry, where every piece held its own connection to someone she loved.

The Wedding She Wishes Could Last Forever
After a decade together, Sanaz and Kayvon's wedding was a celebration of the love they had spent years nurturing.
From the excitement of getting ready to seeing every carefully chosen detail come together, the day unfolded exactly as Sanaz had hoped. Surrounded by her husband, parents, family, and closest friends, she embraced every moment of the celebration.
“Honestly, I wish that day never ended!”
Yet among the beauty and excitement, some of her most treasured memories were the quieter moments shared with Kayvon during their wedding portraits.
Away from the bustle of the celebration, they found time to laugh, enjoy each other's company, and simply take in the happiness of being together.
Looking back, Sanaz wishes she could relive it all, especially the chance to slow down, celebrate a little longer, and dance the night away with the people she loves most.

A Bridal Look Close to Her Heart
For her wedding day, Sanaz envisioned a bridal look that felt timeless, romantic, and unmistakably her own.
She chose a gown by Estee Couture, falling in love with its structured corset, delicate mesh details, and elegant gloves. Meeting the designer herself made the experience even more memorable.
Badgley Mischka shoes, adorned with a delicate crystal heart buckle, completed the look, while hair and makeup by Negar brought her bridal vision beautifully together.
Her jewelry, however, carried the deepest personal meaning. Every piece came from Brax Jewelers, beginning with her pear-shaped diamond engagement ring and wedding band. A tennis necklace gifted by her parents and a pear-shaped pendant from her mother-in-law added sentimental touches to her ensemble.
Together, the pieces represented more than bridal elegance. They were expressions of love from the people who had been part of her journey.
“Having those special pieces from the people I love made my bridal look that much more personal.”

The Beauty of Being Husband & Wife
After ten years as a couple, marriage has felt like a natural continuation of Sanaz and Kayvon's relationship.
They know each other so well that they can almost read each other's minds, particularly when deciding what to eat. It is a small, everyday detail that still makes Sanaz laugh. And despite their long history, there is something wonderfully surreal about calling Kayvon her husband.
“It’s funny because we’ve been together for so long, but sometimes I’ll stop and think, “Wow, that’s actually my husband!” It’s still a little surreal in the best way.”
Marriage has not changed the essence of their relationship. Instead, it has deepened the friendship, understanding, and partnership they spent years building.
“Marriage hasn’t completely changed who we are; instead, it has deepened the bond we already shared.”
For Sanaz, there is a particular joy in knowing that the person she grew up with, fell in love with, and shared so many chapters alongside is now the person she gets to call her husband.

The Beauty of What Comes After
For Sanaz, the greatest joy lies in the life she and Kayvon continue to build together. Grateful for their home, careers, and the love they share, they look forward to traveling the world and creating new memories as husband and wife.
“There’s still so much of the world we want to see, and I love that we get to experience it all together.”
Reflecting on her own wedding, Sanaz encourages future brides to savor every moment, knowing that the most meaningful memories are often found in the people and feelings that make the day special. After a lifetime of friendship and a decade of love, she understands that the celebration is only the beginning.
“At the end of the day, the wedding is one beautiful celebration, but the life you build together afterward is what matters most.”
